Another friend told me about meeting a successful screenwriter who explained that, whenever he had an idea for the current story, he would type up that short scene and add it to a pile on his desk. Once the pile was about an inch deep, he knew he had enough material to begin work on the complete screenplay.

I've been having random little visual artefacts lately that I keep thinking are spiders. Some are purely imaginary, little visual glitches in the corners of my eyes that I overinterpret. Others are bits of string or fluff, or in one case a tomato stem, that I keep mistaking for spiders. I have to check out all these artefacts and mistakes just in case one's a real spider. I wouldn't say I'm scared of spiders, but I definitely have a startle reflex when I see one, and I like them to be at a comfortable distance for both of us.
Right now, just to the right of my computer screen is a small huntsman, maybe an inch, inch and a half across. He's not doing anything. I don't particularly mind huntsmen, they're mild and inoffensive and a little bit adorably furry. But every time I go to check out the brownish blob sitting in my right visual field to see if it's a spider, it turns out to be a spider.

You can't read unless I've never met you and never will.
If you've got the voyeur's itch, post me something and I'll put you on the list.
